I'm SICK of politics. I used to enjoy the social aspect of Facebook and I also used to enjoy watching the news. NO MORE! Everywhere I turn it's all about politics and it's absolutely ridiculous. My vacation is several weeks away and I cannot wait to get on my little island and not hear about the downfall of our country every minute of every day. Hoping that my fellow travelers will be lookin' for the same thing.
Yep...I'm sick and tired. Lookin' to sit on the crystal blue waters of Eleuthera and gossip. Yes, gossip. Talk about who's doin' who and who's not doin' right. Y'all can talk about me, too, while I'm away. I'll be laughin' and sippin' on a goombay smash while the beautiful waters go up and down with the tides. Hopefully catch some fish and maybe find an isolated beach that I haven't visited yet.
Bring me back to sanity! The world as I know it has gone crazy. Yes, I know I'm a little crazy, too. But I hope a GOOD crazy. Time to get away and let the Caribbean waters wash away the ugly. Nothing but relaxation and no time clock. No questions to answer and no one to bite my back. The annual rejuvenation of my mind and soul will make me a new person when I return. Yes, I want to be an island girl...if only for two weeks.
I'll wear muu muus and bathing suits...and fit right in. Because nobody cares when you're on an island as small as Eleuthera. It's all about slowin' down and just enjoyin' your surroundings. I need to slow down. Time is passin' by way too fast.
Island music, good drinks and friendly people. It's gonna be a great vacation...Nobody to please but myself. Everybody will do their own thing. Of course, that won't be much. Not many things to do on the island. But relax. My kinda place.
The locals in Eleuthera think the USA and it's politics is a joke. I like their philosophy of "don't worry, be happy". They're mostly living hand to hand but they always have a smile on their face and a kind word. Wouldn't it be nice if we could all be that way?
Yes, I've been told some of you think I take a boring vacation. No nightlife, no chasing men, no gettin' all dressed up to impress someone. Boring? You should be so lucky!
I'll miss the kids but they will be in good hands. Until I leave we'll dance the nights away in the privacy of my own home, knowing that better times are ahead. Put the music on, Miss BayBay!
